About the Course : The Course covers the major areas of science ranging from fundamentals to moderate concepts in the subject. Besides theoretical knowledge the students gain hands on experience in regular practical classes. They also get an exposure by industrial visits/ guest lectures / symposiums and seminars during their studies.

Duration : 2 Academic Years.

Eligibility : Pass X Std or equivalent exam.

Calendar of Events (Tentative) :

Attendance : 75% compulsory as per the Karnataka PU Board regulations.

Teaching Hours :

Theory : 3 Hours per week per subject excluding Mathematics.
  5 Hours per week – Mathematics.
Practicals : 2 Hours per week per subject excluding Mathematics.


Academic Activities : Lectures, Seminars, Workshops, Guest Lectures & Projects, Industrial Visits, Quiz, Debates, Group Discussions, Case study, Role plays, Tests / Exams.

Internal Assessment : Internal Marks are awarded based on performance of the student in Tests, Assignments, Seminars, Attendance, Discipline, Punctuality, Extracurricular involvement & Overall performance.

Examination : PU Board Examination will be normally held in the month of March.

Scheme of valuation : As per Karnataka PU Board regulations.

Vacation :

Winter Vacation - During Oct/Nov.
Summer Vacation - April 10th – June 31st.

Promotion to next year : Students who have successfully completed the annual exam are eligible for admission to II year. However, students who fail in the annual exam are also eligible for admission to II year PUC in the same academic year provided they pass the special supplementary examination held in the last week of June for I year PUC.

Prospects of the course : After completing II PUC the students are eligible for higher studies in different steams of science / Arts / Literature / Medical / Engineering / Management / Dental etc., or take up diploma courses in various fields.
